Hotel at WaterWalk (Wichita, USA)

This hotel is about a mile from the attractions of the Old Town. The freeway is right next door, but there's no real noise problem. There's free, on-site parking and the free shuttle service is a real bonus.

Accommodation is more like that in an apartment, rather than that expected in a hotel room. The kitchen is a real plus, making the ‘room' perfect for longer stays. You can self-cater using the nearby convenience stores, or they provide a grocery shopping service - to make life even easier! The breakfast is appetizing with fresh cooked omelets and pancakes adding to the appeal. There's a nice bar too; open during the mid-week period.

There are lots of attractions nearby and the hotel has, very sensibly, partnered with many of them. The result is that you just show your room key card and they'll give you a very nice discount on the advertised price. Just ask the very helpful front desk; they'll give you a list of the attractions that apply.

There's a shortfall in the amount of crockery, cutlery and utensils supplied. Rather than spend unnecessary money, think ahead and bring stuff with you!

There is late night disruption; not from neighboring establishments, but from the hotel's own car park.

TV reception is very ‘wonky' and keeps cutting out. Other things that don't work include the telephone. The floor could be cleaner and there are hairs from  bygone guests in the plughole.
