Hotel Aquarius (Dubrovnik, Croatia)

Hotel Aquarius is in a nice, quiet area. It's near the promenade (pedestrian street) with lots of restaurants, bars and shops, yet far enough that you don't experience the noise. The beach is just a few minutes away and it's also nice to stroll Lapad Bay's seaside walking path. There's a bus by the hotel that takes you to the Old Town in just ten minutes; you can also walk there in 30-40 minutes if you prefer. This is a great option if you want prefer a hotel away from the crowded centre but close to activities and dining.

The restaurant offers a pretty terrace under the palm trees. At dinner, the atmosphere is relaxed and romantic, the food is fresh and tasty, and the service extremely attentive. The free breakfast is good as well and includes great coffee. When you want to venture out, staff has great recommendations on restaurants in the area.

Reception is knowledgeable and happy to help you get settled and organized. They give accurate directions and clearly explain how to take buses and transit. Additionally, they provide great recommendations for dining options in the area. Service staff at breakfast and dinner is also very attentive and genuinely friendly. Overall, staff throughout the hotel goes out of the way to care for their guests.

Rooms are rather dark and dated. Also, the overall maintenance and cleaning is poor.

There are limited electrical outlets in the rooms so bring an adapter if you have multiple electronic devices.

Hotel Aquarius is an adequate three star hotel but a bit overpriced for what you get; cheaper options are available.
