Hotel Apollon (Paleokastritsa, Greece)

The hotel has a picturesque location looking out over a curved bay on the Ionian Sea. There are several small shops in the area that also overlook the water and a quaint fishing dock with local boats just steps away.

The hotel provides a lot of food options onsite. There are several restaurants and cafes and even a bakery with fresh-baked goods. The breakfasts and dinners provided are both tasty and inexpensive.

Most rooms overlook the bay, sea, and public beach. The private balconies are great for relaxing and have space for sitting and some furniture provided.

This location is quite far from the main area of town. The pubs and restaurants are very long walks. Guests with mobility issues also need to beware the upper floors as there are no lifts in the hotel.

The hotel provides a basic and standard stay, with no extras or luxuries. The beds are not super comfortable and many rooms are small and dark. The bottom floor rooms have tiny balconies which aren't private and almost no view.

There is no pool located at the hotel, so the beach will be the only avenue of water refreshment. The public beach area leaves a lot to be desired. It can get quite busy and guests will want to arrive early to claim a good spot. There are no sun loungers and towels have to be rented, for a fee. The shoreline is rocky and the water can be quite cool and uncomfortable, even in the heat of summer.
