Hotel 12 Revay is a brand new boutique hotel in the heart of Pest, under the gaze of St Peter's Basilica and near the Hungarian National Opera House. The hotel is ideally situated for sightseeing and a short walk to the metro and the River Danube. The hotel hosts 53 modern en-suite air-conditioned bedrooms and three apartments. All have parquet floors, free Wi-Fi, safes and flat-screen TVs. The apartments offer a living area, fridge and microwave and additional space. Their main feature though has to be their impressive views over the basilica. Hotel 12 Revay has a 24-hour front desk who can reserve trips and cruises. There is also a lobby bar, where a complimentary buffet breakfast is served each morning. Guests can walk to many local sights, take a cruise along the Danube or relax in one of the many thermal baths. Buda Castle can be reached in half an hour by foot.
Guests think the hotel is perfect, primarily for its ideal location. Not only are you minutes from St Peter's Basilica, the Opera and Andrasy Avenue are just five minutes walk away. Exploring further afield is simple too as the hotel is close to two metro stations and the Danube itself is within walking distance. Guests also appreciate the nice and calm area in which the hotel is located.
Guests so love this hotel that many wouldn't stay or recommend anywhere else. They don't think any other establishment could possible offer an equivalent value, considering that the place is brand-spanking new with a contemporary design and is spotlessly clean.
The staff are much appreciated by the guests for their lovely demeanours and professional approach. They are very helpful and personable too.
Guests are pretty unanimous - the one big let down of their stay is the breakfast. It is so poor that the hotel may be better off not offering it at all, rather than tarnish the guests' positive overall experience. The quality and choice is not good at all and is made worse by a complete lack of space. You may prefer to just head out and buy something better – and more Hungarian – locally.
Another common niggle, indicated by many guests, is the lack of decent toiletries. There are no shampoos or conditioners and the hotel only seems to supply enough shower gel for one or two nights.
If you are a soft-bed person, you may not find the beds to your liking. Guests often comment that the beds are too firm.
