Many previous guests commend the staff at the hotel for going above and beyond such as staying on after shift end to keep the bar open, maintenance attending out of hours and breakfast staff sourcing food items that aren’t on the menu.

The breakfast has a wide variety of menu items including some hot choices and the food served is to a good standard. Staff at breakfast work tirelessly in order to keep the different options fully stocked.

The beds are comfortable and other amenities within the guestrooms include a small fridge, microwave and coffeemaker. There are laundry facilities available which are convenient if you are staying for a longer period of time and there is the added bonus of a swimming pool. The hotel is also in an excellent location with Somerset nearby and various restaurants within the immediate vicinity.

Guests have complained that some areas of the property, including the hallways and guestrooms, have a strong and lingering smell of smoke.

It is an older property and is therefore starting to show its age, especially from the outside. There have been reports of a slightly musty smell throughout the property too. Perhaps due to its age there have also been problems when trying to use the internet at the hotel with the Wi-Fi seemingly unavailable in some parts of the hotel.

Soundproofing could be improved and noise can travel from one room to another. There is also a possibility that you may hear traffic noise from outside.
