Don't forget to check out Legoland, Sea Life Aquarium, several museums and Carlsbad Village, all within a seven-minute ride from the doorstep.

The free shuttle around town and back is a lovely convenience. Maintenance is prompt and efficient if anything is wrong, and kids are offered treats on numerous occasions as they pass the front desk.

Some found few attractions within walking distance and insisted you'd need a car to get anywhere worthwhile.
