Doubletree by Hilton Historic Savannah is a 100% non-smoking property which is great for those who don't imbibe and prefer that their room smell fresh and not like acrid, second-hand smoke.

Set in the middle of Savannah's charming Historic District, this hotel is convenient to dozens of restaurants, bars, clubs and eclectic shops. You can walk to many of the most popular tourist destinations as well as nightly entertainment, which abounds in this area.

There's nothing better than staying in a hotel that's been renovated from top to bottom. Not only are the public spaces shiny and new, but the guest rooms are replete with new beds and fresh linens as well as great features like granite counter tops in the bathrooms.

Other than service animals, Doubletree by Hilton Historic Savannah does not allow pets. This is unfortunate for those who like to travel with their favorite four-legged friends, especially because there are so many great walks to be had nearby.

Although the hotel restaurant serves breakfast and dinner, they do not serve lunch which could be a bit of a drag, especially if you have just checked in and are looking for a quick bite. Luckily, there are lots of great little places to eat close to the hotel like A.lure, which serves Southern food. In addition, the hotel does offer lunch via room service.

If you're looking for a good night's sleep, be sure to book a room at the rear of the property and on a high floor. This will keep you well away from the street noise which can get quite loud on weekends and during peak travel season, and which may keep you up way past your bedtime.
