The staff are very helpful. They will offer to carry your luggage up the stairs as there is no lift in the hotel at the moment. At least they are not expecting you to do the hard work! Very courteous staff indeed and professional.
The location is fantastic. You're right in the downtown area of Old San Juan. It's fun and enchanting. You will find many tasty restaurants in the area as well.
The hotel is a little old but it is charming. It's more like a boutique hotel. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The air conditioning works. There are even shutters on the windows in case you want to darken your room. They open easily if you desire natural light. The rooftop area is nice and somewhat like a refuge. The hotel has an artistic ambiance to it.
The hotel staircase is off-balance and if your room is on the higher floors you'd better be in good shape. There's no elevator even though the hotel has promised to install one soon.
Instead of a swimming pool, there are bathtubs on the roof. You can take this anyway you want. You may find the idea intriguing or weird and wonder what's it all about.
aybe An Update Is Due?Yes, the hotel is promising to install an elevator on the premises. However, the rooms could use a bit of fixing-up. Bathrooms are a bit small, the shower is not so good. The water temperature is nearly impossible to control. The Wi-Fi could be better as well. The bar could be open longer instead of only Thursday to Sunday.
