This hotel has one of the best locations in Amsterdam. Situated near the Canal belt, the hotel is ideal for first time visitors, because of its proximity to most tourist attractions. Dom Square and the Red Light District are only a five-minute walk away. Though the city is very walkable, public transportation is not out of reach, with the Central Station only a short distance away. Guests also add that there’s plenty to do around the hotel, and plenty of great restaurants to try.

Guests appreciated various little details about their rooms, such as the flat screen TV, which has plenty of English channels to enjoy on nights in. It is also highly recommended that you request a room with a balcony – totally worth the upgrade even. The balcony is especially ideal for smokers as there is no smoking allowed inside the hotel.

The staff is said to be very kind and charming. They are very knowledgeable about the city and will gladly familiarize you with the area. Guests say they usually provide a map, and give detailed directions to wherever you need to go. In addition, they’re known to give many good recommendations, so don’t hesitate to ask.

Guests say many of the rooms are on the small side, except the balcony rooms, which tend to be a bit more spacious. Almost all rooms are limited in furniture in storage space, however. In addition, some of the rooms also have no windows.

There is no elevator onsite and the stairs are extremely steep. Guests warn that you should be prepared to climb several flights.

Guests have often reported problems with the hot water, which either did not work at all, or was lukewarm at best.
