Bay Glenburn Hotel was built in 1892 and retains an impressive Victorian grandeur in a location that offers panoramic views across Rothesay Bay to the Cowal Peninsula. Rooms retain the spaciousness enjoyed in Victorian times and the spectacular views across the bay can't have altered very much either. Rooms are comfortable and come with the usual ‘extras' that we now expect as standard.
The hotel comes into its own at times such as Christmas, with all-inclusive packages that include all meals (*the food is good here) entertainment and Scottish dancing. There is, though, no shortage of entertainment throughout the year and dining remains
Rooms are large enough but have yet to see much needed renovation. Even the TV is elderly and small. Windows are also characteristically ancient. You can open them with difficulty,but they slide close easily and by themselves. Showers are only for the adv
In the public areas, the curtains appear not to have been cleaned since Victoria was on the throne and carpets are held together with gaffer tape. Entertainment is patchy in quality with some artistes destined to remain so low on any publicity poster ...
