Van Eetvelde House (Brussels, Belgium)

This residence was built by Victor Horta in 1895-97 for Baron Van Eetvelde, secretary of state of Leopold II, in charge of the administration of the Congo. Some of the construction materials used for the house came from that country. An extension to the house was designed by Horta in 1898 to house a garage, an office for van Eetvelde as well as supporting apartments. Hôtel van Eetvelde now houses some offices. Together with three other town houses of Victor Horta it was listed as an UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2000.
