The Diana Princess of Wales Memorial Walk (London, United Kingdom)

The Diana Princess of Wales Memorial Walk in London is a 7-miles long path that links the four great Royal parks of central London–Hyde Park, St. James Park, Green Park, and Kensington Gardens. Ninety embedded plaques mark the path, linking locations that are associated with Diana’s life. Each plaque includes two arrows, indicating the directions (forward and backward) the walker should take to remain on the path. Preparation of the Walk by the Royal Parks was accompanied by an extensive improvement program for the parks, including landscaping and the restoration of existing memorials, fountains, and other ornamentation. The result has been described as one of the world’s truly “magnificent urban parkland walks.” The memorial is maintained by the Royal Parks agency within the Department for Culture, Media and Sport.
