The church of St Peter and St Paul in Market Warsop, Nottinghamshire has existed for at least 1,000 years and is mentioned in the Doomsday Book of 1086 when it was the property of three different Saxon lords. Although many alterations to the building have been made over the centuries some of its original features remain including the lower part of the tower, which dates from the 11th century. Some of the features that can been seen inside the church include several tombs and memorials to prominent local families and it is noted also for its fine examples of stained glass windows. In addition to the old medieval stained glass windows there is also a new Millennium Window. The Parish Centre adjacent to the church dates from the 13th century. The church of St Peter and St Paul is the Parish Church of Warsop and services are held here regularly. At other times when services are not taking place the church is usually kept open for visitors during daylight hours. There is no admission charge to enter although donations are welcome.
