Sandwood Bay (Kinlochbervie, United Kingdom)

Sandwood Bay is the longest beach in the north west highlands of Scotland and it is also one of the most remote. It can only be accessed via a 6km walk. The beach is over 2 kilometres long and extends to just 8 kilometres south of Cape Wrath, the most north westerly point on the British mainland. This beach is especially noted for its clear turquoise blue seawater, fine white sand and its sheer sea stacks, the highest of which is called Am Buachaille. High sand dunes run along the back of the beach, which separate the beach from Sandwood Loch. This loch flows into the sea via a narrow stream that dissects the beach into two halves.
