Portrush Whiterocks Beach (Portrush, United Kingdom)
Portrush Whiterocks is a Blue Flag beach near the town of Portrush in County Antrim. The beach itself is sandy but is backed by limestone cliffs in which are a maze of caverns and arches. It is possible to explore some of these at low tide, but others are only accessible by seabirds. Headlands with names like the Lion’s Paw, the Wishing Arch and Elephant Rock also accent the area. You can go swimming, water skiing, kayaking or surfing in the sea at Whiterocks. Equipment can be hired at local shops. There is a café at the beach as well as toilets with disabled facilities, and parking is available nearby. Dogs are not allowed on the beach in July or August. The Giant’s Causeway is less than 8 miles from Whiterocks, and other nearby attractions include Dunluce Castle and Dunseverick Castles.
