Northumberland Golf Club is a members’ club which welcomes visiting golfers throughout the year. It is situated in Gosforth Park near to the A1 and about five miles north of the Newcastle city centre. The par 72, 6683 yard course winds around Newcastle Racecourse and through the Park’s nature reserve. The course has an additional four “Winter Holes” which can be played in turn to allow four of the main holes to be rested. There is a practice grounds for putting and chipping near the first green. The main rooms and verandah of the clubhouse overlook the first and eighteenth greens. The Main Lounge and Bar occupies an oak-panelled room. There is a large dining room, second bar, sun room and card and television lounge. Opening hours vary through the year. Green fees for visiting golfers: Summer: £40 per round or £50 for the day (Monday to Friday) £50 per round (Saturday and Sunday) Winter: £30 per round. There is car parking on site
