This is one of five public sports and leisure facilities in Chester that is operated by CADSART (Chester and District Sports and Recreation Trust) on behalf of Chester District Council. This is the largest and most popular leisure venue in the city It was built on the site of a former railway station in the 1970’s and offers an indoor heated swimming pool, sports courts including 8 badminton courts, 2 five-a-side courts, 2 netball courts, 2 handball courts, 1 basketball and 1 volleyball court, plus basketball and tennis courts, a gym and a sauna. It regularly hosts national sporting events and is home to the Chester Jets National basketball team. The main sports hall is frequently used for exhibitions including toy and train, antique, postcard and computer fairs throughout the year.
