Marsh Mill Windmill is in Thornton-Cleveleys off Victoria Road. Built by Ralph Slater in 1794 Marsh Mill it is one of the largest windmills in Europe at just over 70 feet tall and one of the tallest in the Fylde. Marsh Mills main body is white, its cap is black(topbit) and its sails and fantail(large wheeltype device at the top directly opposite the sails) are red. Marsh Windmill is open weekends and bank holidays and tours of the mill are available for £1.50 per person. The tour takes you to the top of the mill and gives you a good insight into the history and workings of the mill.
