The writer used to live in an apartment on the second floor of the building from 1832-1848 and some of his major works, including parts of Les Miserables, have been writen here.The exhibition displays over 400 items of the writer, who also was a painter and designer, including some of his furniture, letters and interior decoration designed by himself during his exile. On the first floor of the building visitors can view temporary exhibitions of his artwork, for actual contents please refer to the website which is regularly up-dated. Maison Victor Hugo is open daily from 10am to 6pm Tuesday - Sunday
