The viaduct, completed in 1851, spans the River Nidd at Knaresborough. It is 90ft high and 338ft long and composed of four arches. It was built to carry rail traffic over the Nidd Gorge. Scheduled for completion in 1848 at the same time as the railway, it collapsed before it was finished and need another three years before it was opened. There are cafes close to the viaduct and visitors can hire boats close to the viaduct. Parking is available at either end of the riverside walk.
