Königstraße (Stuttgart, Germany)

The 1.2 km long street is the main shopping street in Stuttgart. It starts at the main entrance to the main station and leads all the way up to Eberhardstrasse. The street has its origin in 1812 and since 1977 it is a pedestrian zone. A multitude of shops and department stores, cinemas, restaurants and cafes can be found here. During the summer months there plenty of possibilities to sit outside and enjoy the lively scene as the street is popular with street artists. A walk up the Koenigstrasse leads the visitor past several of Stuttgarts attractions such as the Neues and Altes Schloss (New and Old Castle), Schlossplatz, Konigsbau , Schillerplatz and Collegiate Church.
