Grand Palais (Paris, France)

The Grand Palace is located in the 8th arrondissement of Paris. It is an exhibition hall which has a glass roof. It was built for the Paris Exhibition in 1900 by four architects, Henri Deglane designed the façade, Albert-Felix-Théophile Thomas the back façade, Albert Louvet designed the interior and the two side façades and Charles Girault supervised it all. The façade consists of columns and statues, two of which are of bronze. Between 1993 and 2005 the building was closed for renovation. The Palace hosts major exhibitions in its rooms, including the Salon d’Automne the Salon Comparaisons and the Salon de la Société Nationale des beaux arts. In the west wing of the building there is a science museum called the Palais de la découverte.
