Located beneath the Council House building in Market Square the Exchange Arcade is an indoor shopping centre that contains number of different boutique style shops ranging from high street names to small independent retailers. The building dates from the 1920’s and its walls feature murals beneath the dome of the Council House. These murals include Robin Hood, King Charles 1in Nottingham during the English Civil War, William Conqueror ordering his men to build Nottingham Castle in 1068 and the Danes invading the city in 868. The Exchange Arcade is open daily throughout the year (except Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years day). It is fully accessible by disabled visitors.
