The Diana Princess of Wales Memorial Fountain is located in Hyde Park, near the Serpentine Lake. The fountain was dedicated by Queen Elizabeth II in 2004, in the presence of several members of Diana’s family, including her sons, Princes William and Harry. The fountain is constructed of Cornish granite, and it takes the shape of an oval stream bed filled with swiftly flowing water. It is meant to represent various aspects of the Princess’s life–including both happiness and turmoil, as well as symbolizing her accessibility and openness. The memorial is maintained by the Royal Park agency within the of the Department for Culture, Media and Sport.
