Canterbury River Tours offer trips on the river Stour through Canterbury. The route takes visitors past historic buildings which are difficult to see from land, including the Greyfriars chapel on an island in the river which can only be visited by water. Many medieval industrial buildings such as a weaver’s house and a forge line the river bank. The tour also gives a different perspective on the more usual sights such as the cathedral. Tours last 30 to 40 minutes and commentary is provided. Tours leave every 15 to 20 minutes between 10am and 5pm from 1 April to 31 October. No pre-booking is necessary unless in a group.
