Blue Planet (Ellesmere Port, United Kingdom)

The Blue Planet is a large aquarium in Ellesmere Port, Cheshire. It has many tanks representing the different water ecosystems of the planet and the main attraction is the ‘big tank’ which includes sharks and other predators. The sharks can be viewed from a moving walkway which passes through the centre of the tank. Shark diving sessions can also be booked by qualified divers and generally take place during the evening. The aquarium is open from 10 am every day and closes at 6 pm during the school holidays and at weekends, and at 5 pm Monday to Friday. It is wheelchair accessible and has facilities for adults and children, including refreshments and baby changing. Prices are £10.50 for adults, £7.75 for children and concessions and family tickets cost £35.50 for two adults and two children. Tickets can be booked online.
