The public rooms contain an exhibition relating to the writer and items of furniture from the period. Opening hours are from 9.30 am until 5.00pm daily, with limited Sunday opening in March, April, May and October - 2.00pm - 5.00pm. Entrance costs £4.75 for adults and £2.70 for children at the time of writing. All the public rooms, the walled garden and grounds are accessible to wheelchair users. Abbotsford is situated midway between Lerose and Galashiels on the A6091 Melrose bypass.
