XO Hotels Couture (Amsterdam, Netherlands)

Guests are impressed by the hotel rooms. By all accounts, you'll find the decor is wonderfully stylish and very fitting of a European hotel. The choice of amenities is good too. Guests particularly appreciate the deluxe coffee makers.

This hotel is about 20 minutes outside the city centre, but this doesn't seem to bother guests too much. Amsterdam is far easier to navigate by tram and you'll find there's a stop right outside the hotel. Plus, guests mention that the views of the city make the tram ride enjoyable.

The service is the subject of much praise from guests, with most describing the staff as unfailingly friendly and attentive. You can expect any questions you have or small issues you may encounter to be dealt with quickly and to your satisfaction.

A small number of guests found the prices in the on-site restaurant were a little pricey. Also, it closes at 11 pm (along with room service) and there are very few dining spots within walking distance of the hotel. On the plus side, the food on offer is often described as delicious.

A minor point perhaps but some guests do mention feeling a little disappointed by having to pay extra for parking. That said, they do concede that the lot is private and secure, so you can hop on the tram knowing that your car is safe, even if you do have to pay for the privilege.

It appears that this hotel has lost its drinks licence or never had one in the first place. Either way, don't expect to be able to get alcohol from the bar. You'll need to go elsewhere or nip the shops to have a drink in your room.
