Rooms are good, reasonably well equipped and clean. The shower is fantastic with a large head and bags of pressure. Luxury! It's a five minute walk to the bus stop and from there, an easy journey to the city centre. It's cheap enough, but you can get better value passes for extended stay use.
Very welcoming staff members are also very helpful in offering advice on places to visit and best value shops and restaurants. Surprisingly, most speak English very well.
Breakfast is fine and the hotel always seems to be busy with visiting coach parties. Noticeably, they all seem to be happy with their deals and meals.
There's no air conditioning in the rooms and during the humid summer months, the temperature is unbearable. Storms can ensue, leading to power cuts and no lighting. Secondary, emergency, lighting in the corridors? No!
You need transport to get to and from here. *At night, the taxi fares ‘double' in price! This is quite a factor but, when weighing up and moaning about this, you'll realise that this very cheap hotel is still a good deal. *Tip: give the taxi driver the very precise hotel address detail … or you could end up at another one with a very similar name.
You can't get away from the fact that the centre is a bus or taxi journey away. The hotel is cheap and generally, excellent value … but that journey is a bind!
