A family-run B&B set in a red-brick house, West Point Hotel is situated in the coastal town of Colwyn Bay in North Wales. The property is within a mile from the Welsh Mountain Zoo. All the rooms are decorated with simplicity and are equipped with basic furnishing, flat screen television, and tea/coffee making equipment. There are extra beds and cots in some of the rooms. En suite bathrooms have baths or showers and basic toiletries. Wi-Fi and parking are complimentary. Guests can avail the facility of luggage storage. Full cooked breakfast is complimentary and is served in a casual dining room at the West Point Hotel. For later meals, there are a number of dining options within just a mile from the property. Guests loved clean the rooms, which were always kept spick and span. Rooms were quite spacious with very comfortable beds. All the towels and linen were clean which smelt very fresh. Toiletries and towels were changed every day.
The hosts were warm and very friendly. Staff was more than happy to cater to all the requests of the guests at any hour of the day. They were very knowledgeable and gave information about the places to visit around. The B&B is only a two-minute walk to the town and the sea. There are many local restaurants and pubs that the guests loved to visit.
There was a wide spread of breakfast and the service was good. It was served in a dining room with designated tables for all the rooms. Even the pet dogs were given sausages as a treat. Guests loved that there was no fuss about the parking space, all thanks to the onsite parking area.
Even though the rooms were clean, some of the guests felt that the room decor needs an update as it looks very old. They felt that the rooms will get a new look altogether once they are done up in a modern way.
Wi-Fi signal was very unreliable and poor, not only in the rooms but outside too making it of no use at all.
Guests felt that only one window in the room was insufficient for fresh air circulation. They also felt that the rooms smelled musty because of improper ventilation.
