Rooms at the Tufted Duck Fraserburgh are spacious and quite modern thanks to a fairly recent renovation which updated the décor, fittings and appointments to a more modern standard, similar to a good city hotel. The rooms are very clean and carpeted and these are all immaculate.
The en suite bathrooms share the stylish standards of the rooms and feature a modern palette with trendy designs. Fittings are also updated and all work very well. Some bathrooms are shower-only while larger suites feature a luxury bath in the room, a few feet from the bed which is a nice touch.
The hotel serves up a wonderful breakfast and guests can choose to have a cold buffet of fruit, cereals and yoghurts or a hot traditional Scottish breakfast which even includes a bit of haggis! Breakfast is very tasty and of exceptional quality and the dining area is very clean, well-presented and offers great views.
There are a few noise issues experience by guests from time to time at the Tufted Duck which is mainly due to the downstairs bar and lounge TV. Other issues regarding noise relates to functions held in the hotel banquet ballroom.
The hotel aims to be at the top end of the market and this could be considered a bit too expensive for some when compared to other establishments offering similar services. Higher prices are mainly found in the restaurants as the rooms tend to be good value for money considering the appointments and views on offer.
