The Wildwood Hotel (Wildwood, USA)

The staff are phenomenal here, with polite charm and efficiency, as well as a wealth of knowledge to share about the area. They won't mind at all if you ask for help with anything you might need.

The town of Wildwood is about twenty minutes from central St. Louis, with the hotel just a stroll away from popular restaurants and shops, as well as directly across from the B&B Movie Theater - perfect for a rainy afternoon (a one-minute stroll from the doorstep.) Paid parking is convenient on the lower level, but many opted for free parking on the street since the area is safe and police headquarters are nearby. The heated pool and Jacuzzi are nicely-maintained and relaxing at the end of a busy day. The complimentary breakfast is somewhat simple but tasty, with hot eggs and biscuits with gravy served up alongside the standard cereal, yogurt and self-made waffles. Wi-Fi is free and works well.

Impeccably clean rooms with excellent amenities, very soft, cozy beds and high ceilings that accentuate the spaciousness of the room.

A bit dated for some, the decor and amenities are aging. Some disliked the softness of the beds, complaining that every move made by their partners could be felt. (However, most felt the rooms were very pleasing.).

Neighbors above, next door, and in the hallway may be a bit too noisy and disturb the peace for guests who prefer it very quiet. Light comes in too easily on the sunrise side of the building for some. A nice sleep mask and some earplugs might do the trick.

Housekeepers don't always do a thorough cleaning while guests stay over several days; if you mention it, this can be changed.
