Gratz Park Inn occupies an elegant red brick building and is conveniently situated close to many of Lexington’s cultural establishments and attractions. The traditionally furnished rooms feature reproduction antique mahogany furniture and local artwork alongside modern amenities such as flat-screen televisions and free Wi-Fi access. Suites add separate living areas and some have the benefit of DVD players and Jacuzzi tubs. Guests staying at Gratz Park Inn can take advantage of the business centre and the fully-equipped gym. Guests were pleased to find that there were plenty of attractions a short distance away from the inn including local wineries, vineyards as well as popular race courses. Those who wanted to sample the local bars and restaurants found it convenient being able to reach numerous on foot.
Upon entering the inn, many said they were impressed with the elegantly presented lobby, complete with a piano and plenty of comfortable arm chairs. The library was also said to be beautifully decorated with various antiques and artwork proving a popular place for guests to relax and socialise during their free time.
Guests were very pleased with the level of service they received at the inn stating that all the members of staff were eager to make them feel comfortable and at ease. The front desk personnel explained the history of the building to the guests which many appreciated and often went out of their way to assist the guests with their queries and requests.
The standard-type rooms have been described as being rather small and cramped with guests reporting that they had very little space to move around in between the bed and the walls on either side.
Guests said that the bathroom fixtures and fittings were rather dated with hand-held showers and old-fashioned suites. Rust on taps and mouldy grouting prompted many to conclude that the bathrooms are in need of modernisation.
The air-conditioning units have been described as being quite loud with guests stating that due to the noise they produced when switched on they were reluctant to use them at night time.
