Many thoroughly enjoyed spending time in the courtyard surrounded by the picturesque Cotswolds countryside and during colder weather guests would sit in front of the open fires in the cozy lounge/library.
The food in both the Mulberry Restaurant and the brasserie was said to be very tasty and guests also complimented the wide variety of dishes on offer. The restaurants catered well for various dietary requirements and many guests said that their dining experiences were the highlight of their stay.
From the bar- men through to the reception and waiting staff, all members of the hotel’s personnel were complimented by the guests who stayed at the Manor. They often went the extra mile to make the guests feel welcome and at ease.
The hotel has no air-conditioning units which meant that during the warmer months some rooms got excessively warm and stuffy. Guests whose rooms were in the attic complained about not about not being able to sleep at night even though they managed to get fans from the hotel staff.
Guests whose rooms were located at the front of the building complained about traffic noise as the hotel looks onto a busy street. Many were reluctant to open their windows due to the excessive noise.
Some of the rooms were described as very small and cramped, suited for single occupancy as opposed to being advertised as doubles. Guests complained about having little space to put away their cases and many also criticised the equally small bathrooms.
