Guests appreciated the convenient location, with public transport, including the free trolley, easily accessible from the hotel. In addition, Salt Lake City Airport is just a five-minute drive away.
Service at Grand America is top notch and the hotel personnel is friendly, attentive and helpful. If you have any requests or concerns, don't hesitate to ask, as the staff is very accommodating. Guests also appreciated the parking, with plenty of spacious spots.
Guests were very impressed with the luxurious facilities and the beautiful décor in the hotel, especially the lobby area, with marble floors and sparkling chandeliers. You'll find that each room is spacious and individually decorated. You'll be even more impressed with the marble bathrooms with deep soaking tubs.
Even though the hotel and rooms are beautiful, some guests thought things could use a facelift. The furnishings and carpets looked faded and shabby instead of vintage, and the mattresses in a few rooms should be replaced due to sagging.
The hotel has a lot of additional fees for accessing amenities and guests were especially disappointed to have to pay to use the pool. Guests also reported being charged for additional dishes, receiving mail and parking.
The food and room service wasn't too impressive. Guests say the food is generally not the best quality. However, most guests enjoyed the buffet and Sunday brunch, saying the selections were delicious and there was lots of variety.
