The Charles Boutique Hotel & Dining (Bruges, Belgium)

A quaint B&B set in central Bruges, a perfect setting in proximity to the historic town centre, public transportation and the Markt.  This is a charming, no frills, basic accommodation, so if you need fancy, you might want to keep it moving.  However, once in side you'll love the beautiful spiral staircase (although it's rumoured to be quite narrow and steep, so ask for help with luggage if you need it) and the sound of horse-drawn carriages along the road outside.  Do whatever you like during the daytime hours, but make sure you consider eating dinner early enough to be finished by early evening - many places are closed well before 7:00 pm.

Clean and tidy, basic rooms with simple amenities of television, a bathroom, one wardrobe and a bed.  No hot drink provisions in rooms.  Some feel the rooms are quite small, so requesting one with large windows will help a bit.

The daily breakfast is included in the room rate and provides all the classic continental fixins served up in a comfortable breakfast room.  Various breads and spreads for toasting and fresh fruits, jam and assorted yoghurt and cereals.

If Wi-Fi is essential to your stay, you may want to clarify at booking and request a first floor room to increase your chances.

After a certain hour, the proprietors leave the vicinity and it's necessary to call them on the phone to summon them at arrival - be sure yours is charged.

Quite dated throughout and could benefit from a thorough renovation in all areas.  Bathrooms are tiny and lack privacy and fixtures have become loose. Also, bring plenty of mosquito repellent.
