The simple, air conditioned rooms furnished with Thai golden teak wood feature en suite bathrooms, free Wi-Fi, satellite TVs and minibars. Some rooms have balconies. Sourire @ Rattanakosin Island features a cosy spa where guests can relax and rejuvenate with a massage and body treatments. Luggage storage, concierge and laundry facilities are available. The hotel provides airport transfers for a surcharge. Complimentary parking is also available. The on-site restaurant serves traditional Thai cuisine. Refreshing tea/coffee is served in the lobby lounge. There are many restaurants and bars at walkable distance from the hotel. Wat Rattchanadda, Democracy Monument and Temple of Emerald Buddha are all less than a mile from the hotel.
Guests loved the quiet and peaceful position of the hotel, but close to the bustling nightlife and entertainment at Khao San Road, shopping centres and restaurants, and the floating markets. Guests could easily hire a bike taxi, a river taxi or a bus for easy access to all places. The hotel is also reasonably priced.
The staff at the hotel is friendly, helpful and always smiling. They have a good command over English, so communication was easy. They also showed great concern for unwell guests and directed them to good hospitals. Guests found that this hotel is good for those people who are not the partying type. They felt that the breakfast though not spectacular, was fresh and healthy with lots of fruits to choose from. They were also satisfied with the service offered.
Guests found the rooms to be great value for money. The air condition was superb and the rooms were clean with comfortable beds. Wi-Fi worked well. Guests were also satisfied with the well-stocked minibars and bottles of water, which was replenished daily.
Guests noted that some rooms have a long wall of windows facing the hallway. Hence the curtains had to stay drawn all the time for privacy. In such rooms lighting is poor. Guests found that the rooms are not soundproof. Very often noisy guests, who came in at four or five in the morning slammed their bedroom doors, thus disturbing their sleep.
Guests complained about the small size of the bathrooms. The shower curtains being short, a puddle is formed after a bath.
Long-stay guests found that the same breakfast was served daily, which became boring after a few days.
