The Seehotel at Maria Laach is a four star establishment located next to the Laacher See and right beside the Romanesque abbey church. First built in 1865, it was purchased by the Benedictines and run on a leasehold basis, but since 1955 it has been directly managed by the monastery. Its 69 single rooms, double rooms and suites have en-suite facilities, free wifi, hairdryer, phone, satellite TV and a desk. Some rooms are equipped for wheelchair users, and cots are available. Various packages are available including weekends and full and half board. There are three separate restaurant areas, seating 180 people between them, and a bar. An outside terrace with a view over the hotel garden and the lake runs along the whole of one side of the building and seats a further 80. The hotel can host corporate and social events and has a range of conference rooms of varying sizes. The hotel has a small indoor pool and sauna and massages can be booked at reception. The neighbouring park has a series of Nordic walking trails, or the wider area is popular for conventional hiking.
