The aparthotel offers panoramic views from its rooftop terrace with a Jacuzzi, tables and loungers, is 500 metres from the Hallgrimskirkja church and ten minutes’ walk from the harbour and the Harpa conference/music hall. All rooms and apartments come equipped with a minimum standard of en-suite or private bathroom(s) with hairdryer, flat-screen TV, stereo and CD player, free Wi-Fi, telephone and ironing equipment. Free parking is offered behind the aparthotel, early check-ins are sometimes available and private airport taxis can be arranged. Each apartment has a fully-equipped kitchenette and a supermarket can be found several blocks away. Room With A View is 51.4 kilometres from Keflavik International Airport, close to which is the Blue Lagoon (48.7 kilometres).
Guests agreed that Room With A View Great has a fantastic location for Reykjavik; found right off the main shopping street, which is the hub for dining and nightlife, and just a short walk from the harbour, Hallgrimskirkja church and a supermarket for cooking ingredients.
The apartments were found to be warm, had comfortable beds, nice decor, and everything guests needed, including a well-equipped kitchen, which was very much appreciated.
Those who stayed found the staff to be friendly and helpful, and while many guests seem to have missed it, there is a small hot tub on the rooftop terrace of the main building.
Some guests were disappointed to find that despite the name, Room With A View apartments did not always have much of a view, whether due to low elevation or scaffolding that was present in mid-2015.
Apart from the changing of towels and removal of rubbish, a handful of guests were displeased to find that their rooms were not cleaned during their stay.
Be aware that due to the central location, there can be some noise from bars, nightclubs, and drunken revellers in the weekends, and a few guests also reported some construction noise. Therefore, earplugs are recommended but not everyone found it to be a problem, especially if they had had a full day exploring the city or hiking.
