ABOUT US History of the house Ringhotel Schlossberg: The chronicle of the town Neustadt an der Orla says that the house in “Ernst-Thälmann-Straße 62” was built around 1700. Originally there were two buildings on this site, which were put together only in 1896. In that time the stucco facade in neo-baroque style was established in order to give the building a homogenous appearance. There were different owners and usages over the intervening years: •In 1895, Karl-Alexander –Straße 92 (right building), the owner was Paul Schulze, baker and purveyor to the court •Karl-Alexander-Straße 93 (left building), Albin Broßmann, master plumber •In 1909, Karl-Alexander-Straße 12 and 14 (right and left building), Paul Schulze, baker with the title “Hofbäcker” •In 1920, Karl-Alexander-Straße 12 and 14, Paul Schulze, master confectioner, Cafè and Confectionery •In 1930, Karl-Alexander-Straße 12 and 14, Artur Wiegleb, master confectioner, Cafè and Confectionery Starting in December 1991 the building was completely refurbished according to the care and preservation of ancient monuments. The Ringhotel Schlossberg was opened on 17 May 1993. Of course our Chef offers traditional regional dishes like dumplings and several meat, as well as national and international dishes. Special emphasis is always put to the use of fresh products. Since 2003 we have been an award winning gourmet restaurant – we reached 13 out of 20 points by the renowned “Gault Millau” and we are very proud to be among the 900 outstanding restaurants within Germany.
