Serenity jungle retreat is located in the lush wilderness of Kanha National Park , at a distance of around 6.5 kms from the Mukki gate in Balaghat district of Madhya Pradesh. The ideological inceptions of Serenity go back to the year 2008 , when it was conceived as a blissful retreat into the abundant nature , providing a unique opportunity for our guests to experience the diverse flora and fauna that this land has to offer. We are constantly striving to reinforce the highest standards of hospitality and provide flawless services to our guests, making them feel at home away from home.Spread over an area of 10.5 acres , serenity forms a part of the buffer region of the national park and is ,therefore, fortunately home to a wide array of plant and animal species. The terrain has been optimally utilized in order to avoid harm to the environment. Special care has been given to make sure that no trees are cut unless absolutely necessary. Room Features: We have a total of 12 living cottages, furnished with basic amenities – round the clock hot & cold water, a convenient dressing area, beautiful windows, a mini bar, tea / coffee, HD television and intercom services. Each cottage has a private open deck, where you can unwind after a tiring day. Bamhani Dadar – Main Building – Restaurant Lobby & Open Deck The Restaurant offers delectable local fares, handpicked and refined for you by the hard working staff of our kitchen. Along with various cuisines.The lobby has been seamlessly furnished with art sourced from the indigenous markets as well as directly from Bastar area of Chhattisgarh State Guests have a wide ranging options of books to pick up from the Library – including wildlife related magazines. The Open Deck gives you the views of the charming hills as well as the surrounding wilderness. Shravan Taal – Swimming Pool The etymological origins of the lake are derived from the popular anecdotes that are found in the great epics. In addition the swimming pool with modern filtration plant is also in the resort at your disposal Gazebo – Alghi Dadar- Inspired by the local architectural aesthetics and traditional idioms, the Gazebo takes you to the heart of the uintessential Baiga way of being furnished with a burnt brick fireplace and the traditional wood and jute charpoys – an ideal place to get lost in introspection with a book or a drink. Mahua Jod – Open Space A recreation space beneath the Mahua trees, is an ideal spot for hosting folk and tribal cultural performing art such as dance, plays and community singing. Basking in the evening bonfire specially in winters, its hard to resist the sense of feeling cheerful and uplifted. Taalab – In House natural water body It is known to attract a multitude of indigenous as well migratory birds. Providing an ideal vintage point for the bird lovers. Our guests are also invited to try their hand at hooking the local catch that is sustainably cultivated by us at the Taalab. We delightfully organize Bush Dinners for our guests on request. Safaris are conducted early morning and in the late afternoon by qualified and experienced naturalists in open 4x4 Suzuki jeeps that have been specially fitted with front-facing, elevated seats to enhance the safari experience. Kanha opens from sunrise till 11:00am and then from the late afternoon until sunset. The park permits entry only after sunrise while exits must be before sunset, so timings tend to change with the season. Birding Walks & Nature Trails Birding Walks and Nature Trails are conducted on request by our experienced naturalist. Guests can visit several small Gond tribal homes. Elephant Joy Ride Elephant Safari as joy ride ( 1 hour ) or half day excursion ( 4 hours ) can be organised through the forest department. As the elephants main duties are to petrol the park and help in conservation efforts, hence bookings can never be guaranteed. One can request for a reservation on arrival, and we will do our best to let you have this experience, to book an elephant, depending on availability. Village Visits & Craft Workshops Such visits can be organised on request. The Gond woodcarvers and local potters can be arranged, on prior request. Rural Market Weekly markets are held on weekly basis, and they are of great interest Cattle fair is held with much pomp and show, which makes Mohgaon a must visit on Thursdays.
