Travellers widely describe the rooms as very clean and comfortable, noting that the though the hotel is very large (over 500 rooms) and often host to conferences, the overall atmosphere is warm and relaxed. The hotel's lovely countryside setting and personable, professional staff seem to be largely responsible for this general impression.

Guests love the wellness centre, which features a large swimming pool with four lanes for adults as well as a resort-style pool for children to play in. The spa services are widely described as very enjoyable and fairly priced, though hotly in demand so it may be necessary to book ahead.

The hotel restaurants earn many positive reviews, both for the quality of the food and the polite, attentive staff. Few walk away hungry from the Super Breakfast Buffet, and many find the morning meal sets them up well for a day of sightseeing; the tram into Dresden is a five-minute walk, and the trip takes about 20 minutes.

Some areas of the sprawling hotel complex have been renovated more recently than others, so some guests describe their rooms as quite modern while others feel they are travelled back in time to about 1980. The more dated areas are, however, described as fairly well maintained.

Several guests have been irritated by the smallish pillows, which are fairly consistently described as "too fluffy" or "thin". Some are able to resolve this issue by requesting more of the same from housekeeping.

Several guests have reported the free Wi-Fi to be a bit slow or unreliable. Others note the televisions are not the newest models, nor do they feature a very wide array of English channels.
