Most guests give the front desk staff high marks for their personable and professional customer service, noting that they are happy to provide directions, answer questions, and see that any maintenance issues are quickly resolved.
Most guests find the rooms to be sparkling clean, with comfortable, modern furnishings, plenty of space in the bedrooms, and practical, well appreciated touches such as mini refrigerators and complimentary Wi-Fi. The beds are generally described as very comfortable.
The Mercure Antwerpen Centrum Opera offers a breakfast buffet daily, but does not have a restaurant on site. As there are many fine restaurants and bars nearby, most guests do not find this to be a problem, and many also opt for one of the nearby cafes for breakfast, as it is generally agreed that the buffet is a bit overpriced.
Several guests were irritated that the hotel does not offer a discounted rate on the secure indoor parking lot, which is operated by a third party but is directly connected to the building.
The elevator does not go all the way up to the top, so guests staying on the 6th floor need to walk up a few steps from the 5th.
