Though the hotel's exterior betrays its age a bit, guests are pleased to report that the Premier Inn Bodmin has been fully updated, with the chain's cheery, purple decor and large flat-screen televisions in all of the "clean, comfortable" guest rooms. Travellers who have stayed in the hotel over the years note the windows have also been upgraded, so noise from the neighbouring ASDA is less of an issue.

The hotel is popular with guests exploring Cornwall by car, as it is not too far from either coast and is offers easy access to A30 and a petrol station. Tired drivers often gratefully describe the check-in process as very "easy", with very pleasant and efficient reception staff. Parking is free, and guests generally don't have any trouble finding a space in the large lot.

Guests appreciate that the restaurant can be accessed from inside the hotel. The cooked-to-order breakfast options receive many rave reviews, and most find there is enough choice at the buffet to give everyone in the family a good start on the day.  The wait staff are often described as "lovely" and attentive.

A few guests have noted the hotel could do with better signage, as it is easily missed by drivers who are unaware that the entrance is shared by the ASDA.
