OYO The Ivory Hotel (Glasgow, United Kingdom)

The food is delicious- excellent quality items, perfectly prepared, promptly served.  Mostly a superb value for the money.  Drinks in the bar are lovely and the atmosphere is pleasant.

Great proximity to all attractions including Glasgow Centre and Hampden Stadium, with Queens Park and the beautiful rose garden directly adjacent.  Sits on the main bus route to city centre.  Has a spacious car park on-site.

Large, clean and comfortable rooms with nice beds.  Reasonable prices.  You'll probably enter to find a delicate origami towel swan sitting on your bed and some tasty mints for your refreshment.  Nice touches.

Entering through the bar without a proper reception area is your first clue this not going to be a luxury locale.  Decor is often described as 'tired', as some rooms are in dire need of a refurb.  Carpets need to be thoroughly cleaned and shampooed, with special attention to the staircase.  Upholstery has seen better days.  Curtains are tricky to close properly in some units.  Showers need updating and most surfaces need a good scrub and/or dusting.  Televisions may not work.

Breakfast is not included with the room rate on some bookings, and is not the rate displayed on certain websites.  Get clarity on this before booking. The wait for breakfast may be longer than expected if busy.  

Wi-Fi is offered in the public areas, but sadly has connectivity issues.  If you can get connected, you probably won't stay there long.
