Being located in the town centre helps to make this bed and breakfast more bearable. It's a quiet place; however, this can be a plus or minus depending on the purpose of your visit.

There is a decent pub around the corner and numerous restaurants just a few minutes away by foot.

If all you are looking for is a place to lay your head for a day or two with convenience to the town centre, you will find this hotel excellent for a business trip. If you're looking for plush surroundings and superb customer service, this is not the place.

The check-in system, if that's what you want to call it, is not the usual. You make a call and someone arrives to give you the keys, and you're on your own. You never see any staff members, so if you have an issue, there's not much you can do about it. You have to let yourself out too by putting the keys through the letterbox.

Hotel décor is very basic, and that's being generous. It's tatty at best with huge spider webs, stains on the wall, mould in some places, and linoleum peeling on the floor. Cleanliness is minimal.

Don't be surprised to find a homeless issue in the area. A stranger knocking on your window or someone passed out on the ground could be part of your experience.
