Motel Island Hotel Port Aransas (Port Aransas, USA)

This is a popular venue, especially for those traveling with furry companions.  Superb bang for the buck with convenient proximity to the beach and downtown area, updated decor and amenities, easy access on/off Highway 361, a sparkling on-site pool and ping-pong/pool tables.  The complimentary breakfast is all-you-can-eat, offering all the basics of a standard continental with Texas-shaped waffles to boot.  Coin-operated laundry facilities are available and there's free detergent at the front desk.  Parking is free and plentiful - as long as you can find a spare spot among the rented golf carts.

Tidy units feature pleasant, recently renovated decor, cozy beds, plenty of both firm and soft pillows, excellent quality towels, and even kitchens in some of the larger rooms which are well-stocked for cooking.   Rooms look like exact replicas of the website pictures, so no surprises await.  Fairly basic, but decent and immaculate. Those traveling with pets get treats upon arrival and a "Beware of Dog" sign.  Ask for a ground floor room, if you'd prefer one, by directly calling the hotel yourself; they generally fill up first.

Stellar, personalized customer service is the norm here, and the staff are exemplary in all departments.  Kudos!

You might hear the voice of an occasional inconsiderate neighbor, dogs barking, footsteps stomping overhead and/or late night frolicking at the pool - which stays open until midnight.  Your best bet is an upper floor room facing as far away from the pool and dog-friendly rooms as possible - and bring your earplugs.

Although the AC is optimal, air flow does stagnate in some areas.  Bring your fan from home.

Some found cockroaches in their rooms, which should always be reported to the desk immediately.
