Motel City Creek Inn & Suites (Salt Lake City, USA)

The Salt Palace is only about a mile away and it’s a short drive to Temple Center. It’s a bit of a hike to the downtown area (*the railway station is five blocks away), but that’s a price worth paying for a quieter environment.

Rooms are clean and welcoming. They are also quiet with comfortable beds; so the scene is set for a good night’s sleep. Rooms are cleaned daily and they empty the rubbish too. There aren’t many frills as such, but what you do receive represents good value.

Staff members are nice and helpful with an upbeat attitude. Breakfast is OK ... as freebies go.

There’s a residential behavioral clinic across the street, so people hanging around can be an occasional source of noise. In the room, the air conditioning can be noisy too.

The air con is on its last legs and hardly works at all. Maybe it just needs cleaning and servicing. No guest expects to find a half empty ‘complimentary’ shampoo container in the bathroom. The neighborhood is on the skids and there’s evidence of drugs. Regular sightings of cop cars indicate that pilfering and theft are on the up.

First of all, there’s no lobby … so, no vending machines or anything like that. Front desk people are, for the most part, friendly though. In the room, towels and pillows are limited in supply; there are no hangers for clothes and very limited storage. The TV remote doesn’t work and it’s even difficult to close and lock the door.
