The on-site buffet-style restaurant offers a wide variety of food that the majority of guests were very satisfied with; the cuisine is varied and new options are added daily so that guests have some variety n their meals and do not become bored with the restaurant. The food is of a high culinary standard and the vast array of choices ensures that all dietary restrictions and preferences are catered to.
Med Playa Calypso is a ten-minute walk away form a scenic sandy beach that is expansive and relaxing. Guests are also very close to the resort that surrounds the hotel which offers a wide variety of shops, bars and restaurants. The hotel is ideally situated to allow guests to enjoy all that Salou has to offer.
The two outdoor swimming pools and large and clean and guests found the area surrounding the pools to be large, well-maintained and hygienic. There are enough sunbeds for all guests to comfortably relax and on-site entertainment has also been praised by a large number of guests.
While the hotel is clean some guests found that the décor could do with updating and felt that the furniture in both the rooms and the poolside area could do with a modern overhaul.
Guests appear to be divided over the food quality; a large number found it to be delicious and varied while some guests felt that it was bland and samey.
The staff were similarly divisive as some guests found them to be friendly and helpful while others felt that they were indifferent and not especially attentive however, for the most part reviews of Med Playa Calypso are very positive.
