The Lancrigg Hotel is a dog-friendly bed and breakfast situated on 30 acres of gardens. The 17th century inn was once the home to William Wordsworth, and is within Lake District National Park grounds.
Rooms are either ensuite or have private bathrooms, and all have TV, toiletries, and free Wi-Fi.
Parking is free for The Lancrigg Hotel. There is a lounge with fireplace. Massage, nutrition, and meditation services, along with cooking lessons, are available.
Breakfast is complimentary. The Lancrigg Restaurant has a fireplace, and serves lunch, dinner, and afternoon tea every day. Organic wines and beers are available, and the menu also includes vegan and gluten free options.
Wray Castle, and Windermere are 25 minute drives. Lingmoor Fell, as well as the Ruskin Museum, is 35 minutes. Beatrix Potter Gallery is nine and a half miles.
Plenty of guests that do not omit meat from their diets stay here, and are surprisingly and thankfully satisfied with the menu. The ingredients are fresh and most are locally sourced, and the menus are artfully prepared by chefs who are well experienced with vegetarian and vegan cuisine.
positive:
Comfy lovely atmosphere perfect for romance.
A great deal of the atmosphere surrounding Lancrigg Vegetarian Country House is to encourage relaxation, inspiration, and romance. From the log fires to the expansive gardens, to the character history of the house and property, everything is low key, luxurious, and meant to indulge in. It's a charming place for alone time without kids, a break from work, or as a holiday to rejuvenate.
positive:
Personable and helpful staff are an added plus.
Staff are happy to share information about sites of interest, good deals with transport or activities, and whatever insider tips would benefit your stay. Friendly and attentive, they're another good reason to choose the inn for your destination.
Negative Reviews
negative:
It's a shame that the décor is run down and shabby.
The expectations for a premium and snugly room are often unfortunately lowered. Decor is in need of a makeover, textures and fabrics are tattered and faded, the bathrooms could use upgrades, and at times there are odd smells that waft through the halls and rooms.
negative:
Housekeeping and maintenance is not at its best.
Cleanliness is not consistent for the rooms or the common areas. Dirt, dust, grime, and cobwebs are visible, and the bathrooms could use some deeper refreshening
negative:
There isn't consistent TV and Wi-Fi reception.
Although the inn's location should suggest that technological signals won't be at their strongest, guests are still disappointed when the telly falters. Mobile phones and laptops also don't fare much better.
